If I winterize it, and get a cover can I just leave it on the trailer or do I have to have indoor storage for it?
It snows a lot here and it will never be used in saltwater (none around for 1500 miles)

No Problem leaving the boat outside. It is done all the time here in Michigan. Getting it shrink wrapped is the best idea, second to that would be a very heavy duty over sized water-proof cover that can reach your trailer. Secure the cover tightly to the trailer so that wind won’t be able to disturb it. If you are able, try not to let snow accumulate on top of your cover. If fiber glass, clean and wax hull before putting the boat under covers!

Seaport Storage RV and Boat Storage

Posted by admin on Sep-5-2009

Originally opened as an RV and boat storage yard in 1983, Seaport Storage is the largest such facility in the county. The yard is paved, drained, and well lit so its easy to get to and move your RV, trailer, or boat.

Under new ownership since 1998, the yard now features upgraded access control with new gates, 10-foot fencing, and electronic gate codes. TV cameras and after-hours guard patrols give you even more peace of mind.

We are trying to buy this home on 40 acres, but could use some extra income from it to help with the mortgage it will require.
We have considered boarding a few horses, boarding 4-H projects, RV-boat storage (in barn), renting space for local worker/student to park a camper (boom town with a n affordable housing crunch), selling eggs, B and B for hunting season(for folks and horses), selling local honey.

Boarding horses is good, but very expensive and time consuming. B&B is better, but see above. Eggs, honey, maple syrup, artisan cheese, vegetables are all good ways to make money.

I have a 1994 Sea Ray 220 Bowrider if memory serves me. (I’ts in storage now) Anybody know what it weighs?

Thanks!

Here’s a link to the Sea Ray website where you can just enter the year and model of the boat and then browse the owner’s manual for that year. By the way according to the website they didn’t make a 1994 Sea Ray 220 Bow Rider. They made a 200 and a 240 but no 220.

Good luck in your search…

Located between SR84 and I-595 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Vertical Yacht Club Marina Mile will be the only facility in the world capable of dry-storing yachts up to 90 feet in length. Within our category 5 hurricane-resistant building, each yacht will be housed in its own ‘Yacht Storage Suite’, complete with a 250 sq. ft mezzanine level for office space, storage, or whatever you desire. Using patented technology developed by Vertical Yachts Storage Systems (VYSS) and utilized in our other Vertical Yacht Club locations, we are able to lift up to 100 tons (200,000lbs), smoothly moving your boat from its suite to the water or from the water back to its suite in just minutes. Each unit is completely climate controlled and comes with biometric security and a foam fire suppression system to protect your boating investment. There will be both US and European electrical hookups within each suite, and we can also provide air and humidity control inside your boat.

When you lease or purchase a Yacht Storage Suite, you will become a member of our yacht club, and will enjoy all the privileges and amenities you’d expect in a luxury club atmosphere…gym, spa, sauna, hi speed internet access, valet and concierge service, and much, much more.

There will be a full-time captain on-premises, and each boat will be splashed in the water on a rotating basis, during which we’ll run the systems, turn on the engines, and perform light maintenance.

This is the ultimate protection for your boat from the sun’s UV rays, salt water, and storms. For the first time ever, your yacht will be stored high and dry, saving as much as $150,000+ yearly in maintenance and depreciation that can result from wet dockage.

Construction will begin in Q3 of 2008, and we are taking reservations now. Secure your space now at pre-construction prices, and enjoy the luxury, protection and lifestyle that only Vertical Yacht Club can provide.
