What is a good name for a self storage company?

Posted by admin on Feb-14-2010

My brother-in-law just purchased a self storage company and needs a name. He was thinking of "Affordable Self Storage" since it is near the top of the list in the phone book and makes it sound affordable. Does any one have any comments or a unique name for the company?

"Affordable Self Storage" is perfect. Too many people get caught up in how "cute" a name is (I spend a lot of time regretting my choice of business name). The only important thing is that it is easily recognizable and somewhat memorable.

If you could not receive packages at your home, and had a storage locker you could receive them at, would your self storage address state that it is a storage locker within the address, for example, 123 Wilcox Drive SL, (SL meaning STORAGE LOCKER), like a private mailbox says PMB for private mailbox. Thanks in advance.

It really depends on the self storage company. Some do mention a locker in the address, whilst others don’t. I suggest you speak to a few local storage companies and ask for the address that best suits you. If they want your business I’d expect them to be flexible.

I own a small mom and pop style storage unit business in Alabama, now I am moving to Des Moines. I am trying to find a company that will help me get started in a self storage facility in Iowa. anyone know of any?

Sounds like you must have been successful at it to want to own them again.
contact http://www.businesspropertyconsultants.com/ and they will set you up with a turnkey income generating business in iowa. they will handle the loans, the equipment, the install, the paperwork, they will set everything up for you and then you can concentrate on running your new business.

I’m wondering if this would be a profitable investment. I’m under the assumption they can make pretty good money. If no, then what would in your opinion?

Very expensive investment, very cheap maintenance and overhead.

Once you get into the business, if you do it right, almost all your rents are free of expenses. All you have to do is make your site big enough to be worth the construction.

You can hedge your investment in advance by making sure damage to the property, liabilities for people living in the properties and security aren’t issues.
